Qualifications & Requirements
- Driver is desirable.
- Minimum 1 years experience working in a children’s home
- Level 3 or 4 in Children and young People (CYP) is Essential
- Valid Enhanced DBS record is essential
- Willingness to undertake further training.
- Must be flexible as shifts are days, evenings and weekends.
Main Responsibilities
- To role model fellow support workers and take a lead responsibility in ensuring the provision of high quality therapeutic care to children and young people at all times during their placement
- To ensure appropriate standards of practice are maintained and are consistent with principles, standards and philosophy stated in the company's policies and procedures and compliant with current legislation and regulations as it relates to child care practices
- Assist the management of the home in developing the skills and potential of RSW’s.
- Work within, and ensure effective delivery of the policies and procedures in the home and the company.
- Participate and where appropriate take the lead in the assessment, implementation and review of young people’s care plans
- Supervise and develop the skills of staff in their daily working practice
- Promote and actively encourage the delivery of a safe, structured and nurturing environment
- Safeguard and protect the welfare of the young person
- Promote and support the young person in reaching their full potential
- To act as case holder for the young person and undertake key working duties when RSW’s are on annual leave or absent through sickness
- Where required, deputise in the absence of the management of the home and provide on call support on a rota basis.
